Damyang Juknokwon (Bamboo Forest)

This bamboo forest expands for approximately 310,000m². Welcoming about 1.3 million visitors per year, this major tourist site of Damyang can often be seen in movies, dramas and other television programs. The forest is divided in 8 different themes(Load of luck, love, memory, friendship, meditation, philosopher, etc.). Visitors can see various bamboo-related works at the digital art museum and experience the history and culture of Damyang at the Siga (One of very classic poetry type in Korea) culture village.

Asia Culture Center

The Asia culture center(ACC) is a culture exchange center and international institution for art where new, forward-thinking works are produced in the blending of contemporary art and culture with innovative ideas and perspectives. There are so many cultural facilities at there, including ACC Cultural Exchange, ACC Children, ACC Archive & Research, ACC Creation, ACC Theater.

Chungjang-ro

Also referred to as “Fashion Street”, this is a major commercial area of Gwangju where the latest fashion trends can be seen. There are many shopping malls, restaurants and cafes, and there is also an area where Hanbok (traditional korean clothing) shops are clustered in.

In Chungjang-ro, there is the most famous bakery in Korea.

▶ Gung-jeon bakery: Because of its tasty and soulful bread, It has been loved by a lot of people in Gwangju since its opening in 1973. The signature menus of this bakery are dinosaur egg bread and Nabi pie. Dinosaur egg bread is a baguette, stuffed with egg salad, looks like dinosaur egg. Nabi is a butterfly in Korean. Nabi pie is a tasty pie, just looks like butterfly.
