Brunei, Japan, and Singapore passport holders are able to enjoy visa-free access to China for up to 15 days. Tonga and Ecuador passport holders are able to enjoy visa-free access to China for up to 30 days. All remaining international travelers require visas.
Standard 30-day, single-entry visas can be issued in three to five working days from most Chinese embassies, and longer visas are often more difficult to obtain. It is more appropriate for the applicant to submit a visa application about one month before the date of quasi-entry.
